What move in and move out cleaning actually means

A move-out clean is graded by someone looking for reasons to keep your deposit, which makes it a different job from any other clean we do. Every cabinet gets opened. Every drawer gets wiped out. The inside of the oven matters, the window tracks matter, and the marks behind where the couch was matter, because that is the list the inspection is working from.

Move-in cleans are the same work with a better mood. Somebody else lived there, the listing photos were taken before they left, and you would rather not put your own things into someone else’s kitchen cabinets. We do it before your boxes arrive, ideally the day the keys change hands.

Your lease ends and the deposit is real money

A professional move-out clean usually costs a fraction of what a landlord deducts for cleaning, and it comes with a dated receipt and photos of every room you can hand over as evidence the work was done.

You are buying and it needs to feel yours

Escrow closes, the previous owner is out, and nothing has been cleaned properly in the chaos. Book it for the gap between keys and movers, when the home is empty and access is easy.

You are handing over a rental

Between tenants, an empty home cleans faster than an occupied one, and fewer hours is a lower total. Turnovers on the same property get scheduled around your handover dates.

Why our price is what it is

California law effectively requires cleaning crews to be W-2 employees, which means payroll tax, workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance on every hour worked. A company quoting far below this is almost certainly misclassifying its workers. That is the honest answer to why we are not the cheapest quote you will get.

Will a move-out clean get my deposit back?

It removes cleaning as a reason to withhold one, which is the part within anyone’s control. We clean to a landlord inspection standard and you get a dated receipt and photos of every room to pass on. Damage, repairs and unpaid rent are separate matters and no cleaning service can help with those.

Does the home need to be empty?

Yes, or as close as possible. Inside cabinets, behind appliances and under furniture are the whole point of this clean, and none of it can be done around boxes. If a few large items have to stay, tell us when you book so the quote reflects it rather than surprising the crew.

How far ahead should I book a move-out clean?

A few days, and ideally not the same day as the final walkthrough. Move-out cleans are longer visits and the schedule for them fills first at the end of the month. Booking early also leaves room to come back and put a spot right before the inspection if anything is missed.

Is a move-out clean more expensive than a deep clean?

Neither has its own price. Every clean is the hours it takes at the same hourly rate, so the question is only how long each one takes: an empty home takes less time per square foot than a furnished one, which offsets the extra work of doing inside every cabinet and drawer. The difference is the standard being judged against, not the rate.
