What deep cleaning services actually means

A deep clean is what you book when the home is basically fine but the details have quietly gotten away from you: grout that is a shade darker than it was, a vent cover with a felt of dust on it, the top of the fridge, the bit of baseboard behind the door. None of it is urgent. All of it is obvious once someone points at it.

It is also the right first visit for a home we have never cleaned. Giving the first visit more hours means every visit after it is a maintenance visit, which is faster and cheaper than a crew slowly digging out over three or four visits.

Nobody has deep cleaned in a year

The usual trigger. A year of ordinary life leaves grout, baseboards and vents in a state no regular visit has time to fix, and a single longer visit resets the baseline.

Before starting a recurring schedule

The most economical way to begin. One longer visit up front, then regular visits that stay regular, instead of paying for crews to slowly catch up over three or four visits.

Spring, holidays, or people coming

Guests notice the details, which is exactly what a deep clean covers. Book it a few days ahead of the event rather than the morning of, so there is room if the home needs more time.

Why our price is what it is

California law effectively requires cleaning crews to be W-2 employees, which means payroll tax, workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance on every hour worked. A company quoting far below this is almost certainly misclassifying its workers. That is the honest answer to why we are not the cheapest quote you will get.

How much does a deep clean cost?

You pay for the time it takes, at our hourly rate — the same rate as any other clean. A home that has been let go usually takes about four hours; a lived-in home about three. The table on this page prices the three answers to “how is it looking?”, and the form gives you your number in about a minute.

How long does a deep clean take?

Longer than a regular visit — usually about 4 hours for a home that has been let go, and more for a big one. You see the hours before you book and you can slide them.

Is a deep clean worth it, or should I just book the usual hours?

If the home has been cleaned in the last couple of months, the lived-in hours are genuinely enough and we will tell you so. If it has been longer, more hours on the first visit costs less over a year than repeatedly paying for visits that never quite catch up.

Do you move furniture during a deep clean?

We clean behind and under anything two people can safely move and put back — nightstands, chairs, light tables. We do not move beds, wardrobes, pianos, or anything on an uneven floor, because the risk to your home and to the crew is not worth the square foot underneath.
