Canyon access needs describing
Half a mile of private lane, a gate with a keypad, and no signal to call from is a normal arrival out here. Give us the directions your delivery drivers get and the crew finds you first time.
Castro Valley never incorporated, and the map shows it: conventional tract streets run straight into canyon roads where the nearest neighbor sits a quarter mile of gravel away.

Castro Valley, California is covered by MaidSimple for residential cleaning and maid service. Cleaners are employees rather than gig contractors, screened and , and every visit turns up fully equipped. Lots run bigger here than in the neighboring cities, and the stock spans 1950s ranch homes on quarter-acre parcels, the 1990s subdivisions on the eastern hillsides, and older properties strung along the canyon roads. Expect about $299.85 per clean upward for a 3 bed / 2 bath home, priced by the hour. Two ZIPs apply here, 94546 and 94552.
What separates this place from San Lorenzo or Hayward is space. Lots are wider, setbacks deeper, and a fair number of properties still carry the shed, the workshop, the fruit trees and the gravel turnaround that came with a semi-rural parcel. It shows up indoors too: bigger utility rooms, mud entries that genuinely get muddy, and more square footage of hard floor per bedroom than the surrounding towns carry.
Access is the other difference. Palomares Canyon Road, Cull Canyon and the upper end of Crow Canyon Road are single-lane in places, unlit, and slow in rain. We book those as one long anchored stop rather than squeezing them between two others, and we ask about the last hundred yards, the gate, the cattle grid, the unpaved drive, before the first visit instead of finding out in the dark.
The core is 1950s and 60s ranch housing, 1,400 to 2,000 square feet, one level, on parcels that dwarf the tract lots downhill. Newer subdivisions on the eastern side go two-story with three-car garages and vaulted ceilings. Out along the canyon roads the properties are older, more individual, and frequently on well water, which means visible iron and mineral staining in sinks, tubs and bowls that a standard bathroom spray will not shift.

You pay for the time it takes: the hours we plan at $99.95 an hour for every recurring clean, or $117.59 an hour just once. Supplies and equipment included. Anything extra you tick — inside the oven, the fridge, baseboards in full — adds its time at the same rate, and a deeper clean or a move-out is simply more hours. Slide the hours before you book if you know your home better than we do.
The operational stuff nobody advertises, which is exactly what matters on the day.

Properties beyond the mains show iron and mineral staining that ordinary cleaner will not lift. We carry a separate mineral treatment for those homes rather than scrubbing away at porcelain that is not actually dirty.
Gravel drives, decks and yard work put far more grit indoors than a sidewalk suburb generates. Entry mats, hard-floor edges and the strip inside every exterior door get worked properly, since that is where it collects.

How it works →Empty-home cleaning for deposits and handovers — more hours, the same rate.
How it works →Weekly, every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks, at the advertised rate every clean.
How it works →Most cleaning companies send whoever is available that day. Our cleaners are our own background-checked, W-2 employees — which costs us more in payroll tax and workers’ comp, and is exactly why the standard holds: we employ them and dispatch them ourselves.
Every maid is on our payroll and background-checked before she sets foot in your home. If anything’s not right, tell us and we come back and put it right — you don’t pay twice.
The general FAQ covers access, supplies, rescheduling and paying.
Yes, and it helps to tell us the details when you book. Those addresses take longer to reach, usually have a gate or a shared lane, and lose daylight early in winter. We treat them as a single anchored appointment for the day so the crew is not working against a clock set by somebody else on the schedule.
Not because of the address, because of the size. A quote is built from bedrooms, bathrooms and the type of clean, and the houses in this valley simply tend to have more of all three. A modest 1950s ranch off Redwood Road prices much the same as a modest ranch anywhere else in the East Bay.
Yes, and it is a common request given the parcel sizes here. Treat it as its own small home in the quote and add its bedroom and bathroom count separately, because the crew still has to reset a full kitchen and bathroom inside it. If it is let out, we can turn it over between tenants too.
