What Bell is like to work in
Square footage is a poor guide to how long a house takes here. The homes off Gage Avenue and Otis Street are compact, but the kitchen gets used three times a day, the single bathroom serves everybody, and the living room doubles as somewhere people actually sit. Wear concentrates. A crew that treats a 950 square foot house as a quick job gets it wrong.
What helps is that the layouts are simple and consistent. Front door into a living room, kitchen behind it, bedrooms off a short hall, one bathroom between them. Near Veterans Memorial Park and along the streets toward the river channel you will find the same plan repeated with minor variations, so our crews stop needing directions after the first visit.
What Bell homes are like to clean
Most of what we clean is between 750 and 1,150 square feet: two or three bedrooms, one bathroom, no second story. Foundations are a mix of raised wood on the older streets and slab on later builds. Floors tend to be laminate or vinyl plank laid over whatever came before. Kitchens are small and heavily used, which is where most of the visit goes. Duplexes and side-by-side units are common and each half books separately.
